Responsibilities
- Process and adjudicate veterans' disability and benefit claims in accordance with federal regulations
- Review medical documentation and service records to determine eligibility criteria
- Communicate with veterans, legal representatives, and medical providers to gather additional information
- Maintain accurate claim documentation in the Veterans Benefits Management System (VBMS)
- Adhere to strict deadlines and quality assurance standards for claim processing
- Stay current on policy updates through continuous training programs
- Collaborate with senior examiners to resolve complex claim discrepancies
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Associate's degree or 2 years of claims processing experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data entry systems
- Strong attention to detail with ability to interpret complex regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
- Pass federal background investigation and credit check
- Preferred: Experience with veterans' benefits or federal claims systems
