Responsibilities
- Monitor and enforce federal environmental regulations (EPA, Clean Water Act, RCRA) across Louisiana parishes
- Conduct on-site compliance inspections and investigations of industrial facilities
- Prepare detailed regulatory compliance reports and enforcement documentation
- Coordinate with federal EPA officials on compliance initiatives and policy updates
- Develop compliance training programs for local government agencies and regulated entities
- Manage complex environmental permit applications and modifications
- Represent LDEQ in inter-agency task forces and public hearings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years' experience in environmental compliance or regulatory enforcement
- Strong knowledge of EPA regulations and Louisiana environmental statutes
- Valid Louisiana driver's license and ability to travel statewide
- Proficiency in regulatory databases (e.g., ECHO, Envirofacts)
- Excellent written communication skills for technical documentation
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and high-pressure situations
- Preferred: Federal agency collaboration experience or NEPA certification
