Responsibilities
- Monitor and enforce compliance with federal laws (e.g., VA directives, HIPAA, FOIA)
- Conduct internal audits and risk assessments across departmental operations
- Develop and implement compliance training programs for staff
- Investigate allegations of non-compliance and recommend corrective actions
- Collaborate with legal teams to resolve regulatory discrepancies
- Prepare detailed compliance reports for senior leadership and oversight bodies
- Stay current on evolving federal regulations and policy changes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Law, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of federal compliance or regulatory experience
- Deep knowledge of veterans' affairs regulations and federal statutes
- Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) certification required
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and compliance management software
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong written/verbal communication and stakeholder management abilities
