Responsibilities
- Monitor and implement HIPAA, HITECH, and VA-specific regulatory compliance protocols
- Conduct comprehensive audits of health information systems and processes
- Develop and maintain compliance documentation and training materials
- Collaborate with IT and clinical teams to resolve compliance gaps
- Stay current with evolving federal healthcare regulations and guidance
- Lead incident response and reporting for compliance violations
- Represent the facility in external compliance reviews and audits
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Management, or related field
- 3+ years experience in healthcare compliance or federal regulations
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or CCEP certification
- Expertise in HIPAA/HITECH compliance frameworks
- Proficient with electronic health record systems (EHR)
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain federal security clearance
