Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to VA healthcare regulations and federal compliance standards across all facility operations
- Conduct comprehensive audits of medical records, billing systems, and patient care protocols
- Develop and implement corrective action plans for compliance deficiencies identified during reviews
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to maintain HIPAA and CMS compliance
- Prepare detailed compliance reports for regional VA headquarters and OIG oversight
- Train staff on evolving federal healthcare regulations and VA policy updates
- Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies during inspections
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Policy, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years experience in federal or healthcare compliance
- Active VA or federal clearance (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Proficient with VA VistA system and electronic health records
- Knowledge of HIPAA, CMS, and VA healthcare regulations
- Strong analytical skills with experience in compliance auditing
- Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance
