Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive audits of VA facilities to ensure federal compliance with 38 CFR and HIPAA regulations
- Investigate veteran benefit claims discrepancies and recommend corrective actions
- Collaborate with legal teams to develop compliance training programs for 200+ staff
- Prepare detailed audit reports for OIG oversight and Congressional inquiries
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve service delivery metrics
- Maintain strict confidentiality handling sensitive veteran data under PII protocols
- Coordinate with state agencies on joint compliance initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Law, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years federal compliance experience with VA, DoD, or HHS
- Active Secret security clearance (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Expertise in federal procurement regulations (FAR/DFARS)
- Certified Federal Investigator (CFI) or VA Compliance Officer certification
- Advanced proficiency in VA's VISTA and CPMS systems
- Experience leading compliance audits for 50+ personnel organizations
- Demonstrated knowledge of veterans' preference laws
