Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility regulations during night shifts
- Conduct security inspections of living quarters and common areas
- Respond to emergencies, disturbances, and medical incidents with protocol adherence
- Maintain detailed logs and incident reports for compliance documentation
- Escort inmates during transfers, court appearances, and medical appointments
- Operate security systems including surveillance equipment and access controls
- Participate in emergency response drills and continuous training programs
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during inter-facility transfers
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Minimum age 21 (must be appointed before 37th birthday)
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Pass medical examination, drug screening, and background investigation
- Ability to work rotating night shifts, weekends, and holidays
- High school diploma or equivalent with 3 years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in security protocols and emergency response procedures
- Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret security clearance
