Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce institutional rules during night shift operations
- Conduct regular security rounds and perimeter checks to maintain facility integrity
- Respond to emergencies, disturbances, and medical incidents with tactical precision
- Document incidents and maintain detailed logs using federal reporting systems
- Screen visitors, mail, and packages to prevent contraband introduction
- Participate in emergency response drills and crisis management protocols
- Maintain constant vigilance during overnight watch to ensure safety standards
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and valid state driver's license
- Minimum 21 years of age with high school diploma or GED
- Pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
- Successfully complete federal correctional officer training program
- Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret security clearance
- Physical fitness to pass annual fitness assessment (push-ups, sit-ups, run)
- No felony convictions and clean drug screening history
- Ability to work rotating shifts and holidays as required
