Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and conduct regular patrols during night hours
- Enforce institutional rules and respond to emergencies per federal protocols
- Perform headcounts and maintain security logs with meticulous accuracy
- Operate security systems (e.g., surveillance, alarms, gates) during night shifts
- Respond to medical incidents and provide first aid when required
- Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain compliance records
- Coordinate with law enforcement agencies during cross-jurisdictional operations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and valid driver's license
- Minimum 21 years of age and pass background investigation
- Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret security clearance
- Physical fitness to handle restraining techniques and emergency responses
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Basic computer skills for report documentation
- Ability to work rotating schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Successful completion of Federal Correctional Officer Training Program
