Responsibilities
- Monitor, detect, and respond to cyber threats against federal networks using advanced SIEM tools
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on critical infrastructure systems
- Develop and implement security protocols compliant with NIST and FISMA standards
- Collaborate with cross-agency teams during incident response and recovery operations
- Generate comprehensive security reports and brief senior leadership on threat landscapes
- Lead security awareness training programs for federal personnel
- Stay current with emerging cyber threats and defensive technologies
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DHS security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years experience in cybersecurity roles with federal/government experience
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or GIAC certification required
- Proficiency in threat intelligence platforms (e.g., Splunk, CrowdStrike)
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and zero-trust architectures
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
