Responsibilities
- Monitor federal networks for security incidents using SIEM tools and threat intelligence platforms
- Conduct forensic investigations of cyber breaches and develop remediation strategies
- Implement and maintain NIST-compliant security controls across classified systems
- Collaborate with cross-agency teams to develop incident response protocols
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on critical infrastructure
- Prepare detailed security reports for senior leadership and congressional briefings
- Lead security awareness training programs for federal employees
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Secret clearance (required)
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations or threat analysis
- Proficiency in security tools: Splunk, Palo Alto, or CrowdStrike
- Knowledge of federal frameworks: NIST 800-53, FISMA, and RMF
- Security certifications: CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+
- Strong analytical skills with ability to document complex technical findings
