Responsibilities
- Monitor network traffic and systems to detect, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity threats and incidents in real-time.
- Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to ensure compliance with FedRAMP and NIST standards.
- Implement and maintain security controls, including firewalls, SIEM, and encryption protocols.
- Document security policies, incident reports, and audit findings in accordance with federal guidelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop robust cybersecurity strategies and best practices.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff members on security protocols and tools.
- Participate in security architecture reviews and ensure alignment with agency mission objectives.
Qualifications
- Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance (or ability to obtain).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT, or a related federal support role.
- CISSP, Security+, CEH, or equivalent certification is strongly preferred.
- Deep understanding of network security principles, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and virtualization technologies.
- Experience with security frameworks such as NIST SP 800-53 and CUI requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting.
