Responsibilities
- Continuous Monitoring: Utilize SIEM tools to monitor network traffic and detect potential security breaches 24/7 during the night shift.
- Incident Response: Lead and coordinate the response to security incidents, conducting forensic analysis and containment procedures.
- Vulnerability Management: Perform regular security assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in federal systems.
- Compliance Reporting: Generate detailed reports for compliance with federal standards such as NIST, FISMA, and HIPAA.
- Threat Hunting: Proactively search for malicious actors and indicators of compromise within the network.
- Configuration Management: Ensure firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection systems are configured correctly for optimal security.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field. Equivalent military or technical experience may be substituted.
- Certifications: Active Secret or Top Secret clearance required. CISSP, Security+, or CEH certifications are highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, network defense, or incident response.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with firewalls, VPNs, SIEM (Splunk/SolarWinds), and scripting languages (Python/Bash).
- Availability: Must be available to work rotating night shifts (e.g., 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM).
