Job Overview:
As a Federal Cybersecurity Analyst on the night shift, you will be the first line of defense against cyber threats. You will monitor systems, investigate anomalies, and ensure compliance with strict federal security regulations.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity incidents and alerts in a 24/7 SOC environment.
- Conduct network traffic analysis and vulnerability assessments on federal systems.
- Investigate potential security breaches and generate detailed incident reports.
- Enforce security policies and compliance standards for all network traffic.
- Collaborate with the security engineering team to implement patches and mitigations.
- Manage and maintain logs for audit and forensic purposes.
Qualifications
- Active Secret clearance or willingness to obtain one.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity or information security.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications such as CISSP, Security+, or GSEC are highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
- Ability to work independently during night shifts with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
