Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure IT systems including networks, servers, and cloud infrastructure
- Ensure compliance with federal IT policies including FISMA, NIST, and FedRAMP standards
- Provide technical leadership for IT modernization projects and system migrations
- Develop and document IT security protocols, disaster recovery plans, and operational procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technology solutions supporting VA missions
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement proactive maintenance
- Mentor junior IT staff and conduct security awareness training for federal employees
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years of specialized IT experience in federal or regulated environments
- Active security clearance (or ability to obtain one)
- Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and enterprise network administration
- Strong knowledge of federal IT security frameworks and compliance requirements
- Professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+) preferred
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with ability to work independently in remote settings
