Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity threats across federal networks and critical infrastructure
- Develop and implement advanced security protocols to protect sensitive government data and systems
- Collaborate with federal, state, and local agencies to coordinate incident response and threat intelligence sharing
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate security weaknesses
- Prepare detailed security reports and briefings for senior leadership and congressional stakeholders
- Stay current with emerging cyber threats and technologies to maintain effective defense strategies
- Mentor junior cybersecurity professionals and conduct security awareness training
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of professional cybersecurity experience with federal systems
- Active CISSP, CEH, or Security+ certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Expertise in NIST Cybersecurity Framework and FISMA compliance requirements
- Proficiency with SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and threat detection tools
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently in remote environments
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
