We seek a detail-oriented professional to oversee electronic health record systems, ensure HIPAA compliance, and optimize health information workflows. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maintain data integrity while supporting cutting-edge healthcare initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain electronic health record systems (EHR) in compliance with federal regulations
- Develop and implement health information policies ensuring HIPAA and HITECH Act compliance
- Analyze clinical data to improve healthcare delivery outcomes and reporting accuracy
- Coordinate with IT and clinical teams on EHR system upgrades and integration
- Conduct regular audits of health information documentation and coding practices
- Train staff on health information management best practices and system usage
- Lead data quality improvement initiatives for veteran health records
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field (Master's preferred)
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- Minimum 3 years' experience in health information management systems
- Expertise in HIPAA/HITECH compliance and healthcare data privacy
- Proficiency in EHR platforms (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and health data analytics tools
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT coding systems
- Ability to obtain and maintain federal background clearance
