Responsibilities
- Manage and secure electronic health records in compliance with VA policies and HIPAA regulations
- Coordinate health information exchanges between VA facilities and external providers
- Implement data integrity protocols for patient privacy and regulatory compliance
- Train staff on health information systems and documentation standards
- Conduct audits to ensure adherence to federal healthcare data standards
- Collaborate with IT teams on system upgrades and security enhancements
- Generate reports for healthcare quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification required
- Minimum 2 years experience in healthcare data management
- Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., VistA, Epic)
- Knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and VA privacy regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain federal security clearance
