Responsibilities
- Manage and secure electronic health records (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA and federal regulations
- Perform data quality audits and corrections to ensure accurate veteran health documentation
- Coordinate with clinical teams to resolve health information discrepancies and maintain data integrity
- Implement federal health information standards and privacy protocols across weekend operations
- Train weekend staff on health information management procedures and system updates
- Generate compliance reports for federal healthcare audits and quality assessments
- Support weekend patient registration and discharge documentation processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field (or equivalent experience)
- RHIA or RHIT certification preferred (or eligible for certification)
- Minimum 2 years' experience in healthcare data management or EHR systems
- Proficiency with federal health information systems (e.g., VistA, Cerner)
- Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and federal healthcare regulations
- Ability to work independently on weekend shifts with minimal supervision
- U.S. citizenship required for federal position clearance
