Responsibilities
- Maintain and secure electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with VA and federal standards
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and data privacy protocols are strictly followed
- Coordinate with clinical teams to resolve documentation discrepancies
- Train staff on health information systems and record-keeping procedures
- Conduct audits and implement corrective actions for data integrity
- Support transition to new VA healthcare IT initiatives
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Health Information Technology or related field
- Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA) or RHIA preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in healthcare documentation systems
- Proficiency in Epic or VA-specific EHR platforms
- Knowledge of federal healthcare regulations (HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2)
- Ability to obtain and maintain VA background clearance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
