Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain electronic health records in accordance with VA and HIPAA regulations
- Implement health information systems upgrades and process improvements
- Conduct audits to ensure data accuracy and regulatory compliance
- Train staff on health information management protocols
- Collaborate with clinical teams to resolve data discrepancies
- Support VA's transition to modern health information technologies
- Prepare compliance reports for federal oversight agencies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- Minimum 3 years' experience in healthcare data management
- Familiarity with VA VistA or federal health systems preferred
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA and federal healthcare regulations
- Proficiency in EHR systems and data analytics tools
- Ability to obtain and maintain federal security clearance
