Responsibilities
- Manage and secure confidential veteran health records in compliance with HIPAA and federal regulations
- Implement electronic health record (EHR) systems and optimize clinical workflows
- Conduct data quality audits and ensure accurate documentation of veteran care
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve information system issues
- Train staff on health information management best practices
- Stay current with evolving federal healthcare policies and technology standards
- Support VA healthcare facility compliance initiatives and audits
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field (Master's preferred)
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- Minimum 3 years of health information management experience
- Expertise in EHR systems (Epic/Cerner experience highly valued)
- Strong understanding of HIPAA and federal healthcare regulations
- Proficiency in data analytics and information security protocols
