About the Role:
As an IT Specialist, you will be responsible for the management, security, and maintenance of federal information systems. You will work closely with federal stakeholders to ensure compliance with strict government regulations and cybersecurity protocols.
Responsibilities
- Network Management: Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of federal network infrastructure and servers.
- Cybersecurity Compliance: Implement and monitor security protocols to protect sensitive federal data in accordance with NIST and FISMA standards.
- System Administration: Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control within federal databases and applications.
- Technical Support: Provide advanced technical support to federal staff and resolve complex system issues efficiently.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate technical documentation, system configurations, and incident reports.
- Vendor Coordination: Liaise with external vendors and contractors for hardware and software procurement and support.
Qualifications
- Security Clearance: Active Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one (Top Secret preferred).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. (High school diploma with significant relevant experience may be considered).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or network engineering within a government or enterprise environment.
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent ITIL certification is highly desirable.
- Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and Cisco networking equipment.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to brief senior leadership on technical matters.
