Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain NIST cybersecurity frameworks across VA systems
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on federal networks
- Develop incident response protocols for data breaches and cyber threats
- Coordinate with federal agencies to ensure compliance with FISMA requirements
- Train staff on security best practices and emerging threats
- Manage identity and access control systems for 500+ federal employees
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and federal background clearance required
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience with federal IT security protocols (FISMA, NIST)
- Security+ CE certification (CompTIA) or equivalent DoD 8570 compliance
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, ArcSight) and vulnerability scanners
- Demonstrated experience with risk assessment methodologies
