Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize electronic health record systems (EHR) for veteran care facilities
- Lead cybersecurity initiatives to protect sensitive veteran data
- Coordinate IT infrastructure upgrades across multiple VA medical centers
- Develop disaster recovery plans and implement business continuity protocols
- Train staff on new healthcare technology systems and compliance standards
- Collaborate with federal IT teams to align with national healthcare IT initiatives
- Ensure all systems comply with HIPAA and federal security regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare IT systems management
- Active security clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Certification in CompTIA Security+ or CISSP
- Experience with VA-specific systems (VistA, Cerner) preferred
- Strong knowledge of FISMA compliance requirements
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work in a federal environment with strict protocols
