Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor federal IT security protocols including NIST compliance frameworks
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on government networks
- Develop incident response plans and coordinate security breach mitigation efforts
- Manage access control systems and identity management solutions
- Provide security guidance to cross-functional teams on system implementations
- Stay current with emerging cyber threats and countermeasures
- Prepare comprehensive security documentation and compliance reports
- Collaborate with federal partners on security initiatives and information sharing
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years of IT security experience with federal systems
- Active Security+ CISSP or CompTIA Security+ certification required
- Expertise in risk assessment methodologies and security frameworks
- Proficiency with security tools (SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS)
- Knowledge of FISMA, FedRAMP, and NIST SP 800-53 standards
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance
