The Role:
We are looking for a proactive professional who can manage, maintain, and upgrade federal information systems. You will act as a technical lead for local Oakland-based initiatives while supporting broader federal mandates.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN) for federal clients in Oakland.
- Implement and monitor security protocols to ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity standards (FISMA).
- Provide Tier 3 technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance assessments to optimize IT operations.
- Collaborate with federal program managers to define technical requirements and deliverables.
- Train junior staff and federal employees on new technologies and security procedures.
- Document all system configurations, incidents, and changes in accordance with ITIL best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in federal or government IT environments.
- Active or eligibility for a Secret Security Clearance.
- Proficiency in networking protocols (TCP/IP), Windows Server, and Linux environments.
- Strong understanding of federal regulations, including FedRAMP and NIST standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
