Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize federal IT systems including networks, databases, and cybersecurity protocols
- Implement and maintain compliance with federal IT security standards (NIST, FISMA)
- Provide technical support for VA healthcare applications and veteran-facing digital services
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system upgrades and IT modernization projects
- Document IT processes and prepare compliance reports for federal audits
- Train staff on new technologies and security best practices
- Monitor system performance and resolve technical issues promptly
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years experience in federal IT systems administration
- Active security clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Proficiency in network infrastructure, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and cybersecurity tools
- Familiarity with VA IT systems and healthcare IT standards preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- U.S. citizenship required
