Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure IT infrastructure for veteran healthcare systems
- Provide Tier 3 technical support for network, hardware, and software solutions
- Develop disaster recovery plans and ensure compliance with federal security protocols (NIST, FISMA)
- Collaborate with VA medical centers to integrate technology with clinical workflows
- Lead system upgrades and migration projects while minimizing service disruption
- Train staff on new technologies and create operational documentation
- Monitor system performance and proactively address security vulnerabilities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in federal IT infrastructure management
- Active Security+ CE certification or equivalent DoD 8570 compliance
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and virtualization technologies
- Demonstrated experience with HIPAA-compliant healthcare systems
- Strong analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
- Preferred: VA-specific system experience (VistA, M2) or GS-12 equivalent
