Responsibilities
- Network Monitoring: Proactively monitor network traffic and systems to detect anomalies, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal performance during off-hours.
- Incident Response: Lead the technical response to system outages and security incidents, applying root-cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Security Compliance: Enforce federal security protocols and ensure all systems adhere to NIST and agency-specific compliance standards.
- Ticket Management: Manage and resolve IT service tickets in the Help Desk system with a focus on speed and accuracy.
- Hardware Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, updates, and hardware repairs for workstations and peripherals.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate technical documentation and logs regarding all system changes and incident reports.
Qualifications
- Security Clearance: Active Secret or Top Secret clearance is preferred (must be willing to obtain if required).
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in IT support, network administration, or systems engineering within a federal or government contracting environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, TCP/IP, VPN, and Cisco routing/switching.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Self-Starter: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during the night shift.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent military experience.
