Responsibilities
- Monitor and defend government networks against 24/7 cyber threats during night shift hours
- Implement advanced security protocols for confidential municipal data systems
- Conduct forensic investigations and incident response for security breaches
- Collaborate with federal agencies on critical infrastructure protection initiatives
- Develop and maintain security documentation and compliance reports
- Train municipal staff on security best practices and protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of enterprise-level security operations experience
- Active CISSP, Security+, or CompTIA Security+ certification
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and threat intelligence platforms
- Ability to work independently during night shift hours with minimal supervision
- Clear federal government background investigation eligibility
- Strong knowledge of NIST frameworks and FISMA compliance requirements
