The Role
In this role, you will serve as the primary technical point of contact for federal staff during off-hours. You will troubleshoot complex IT issues, maintain critical infrastructure, and ensure business continuity for our government clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 2/3 technical support for hardware, software, and network infrastructure during weekend shifts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve critical IT incidents to ensure minimal downtime for federal agency operations.
- Manage and maintain server systems, including patching, updates, and basic configuration.
- Assist with user access management, security clearances, and identity verification processes.
- Document all incidents, resolutions, and system changes in the Service Desk Knowledge Base.
- Collaborate with the weekday support team to ensure seamless handover of active issues.
- Conduct routine system health checks and security compliance audits.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent military/technical experience.
- Certification: CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certification is strongly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support or systems administration within a government or corporate environment.
- Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Secret clearance is required.
- Schedule: Must be available to work a rotating weekend schedule (e.g., Friday-Sunday or Saturday-Monday).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Office 365, and basic scripting (PowerShell/Batch).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
