Responsibilities
- Maintain and organize electronic medical records in compliance with VA regulations
- Verify patient information and ensure data accuracy across healthcare systems
- Process veteran medical claims and documentation within weekly deadlines
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve record discrepancies
- Adhere to HIPAA privacy protocols and federal record-keeping standards
- Train staff on medical record procedures and documentation updates
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- Minimum 2 years experience in medical records management
- Familiarity with VA VistE or similar electronic health record systems
- Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA) or RHIA credentials preferred
- Strong attention to detail and data verification skills
