Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient appointments and clinic scheduling across multiple VA departments
- Process medical records, insurance verifications, and billing documentation
- Provide frontline patient support including intake, triage, and benefits counseling
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient care workflows
- Resolve patient inquiries and administrative issues with empathy and precision
- Support VA facility compliance with federal healthcare regulations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required (federal employment mandate)
- Minimum 2 years healthcare administration or medical office experience
- Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., VistA, Epic) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid California driver's license for occasional off-site duties
- Ability to obtain and maintain VA background clearance
- Strong organizational skills with attention to regulatory compliance
- Experience working with veterans or diverse patient populations preferred
