Responsibilities
- Analyze pension plan data to ensure accuracy in benefit calculations and eligibility determinations for federal retirees.
- Conduct thorough compliance reviews to align with Federal Retirement standards and ERISA regulations.
- Manage a caseload of retiree inquiries via phone, email, and in-person, providing expert guidance on pension vesting and payouts.
- Prepare and audit required documentation for pension disbursements and benefit transfers.
- Collaborate with the internal legal and finance teams to update plan documents and interpret legislative changes.
- Train junior staff on pension administration procedures and regulatory updates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in pension administration, human resources, or a related federal role.
- Strong working knowledge of ERISA regulations and federal retirement systems (e.g., FERS, CSRS).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive financial data with the utmost confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client-facing interactions.
