Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of federal pension administration, including calculations, distributions, and record-keeping.
- Ensure strict compliance with ERISA, FERS, and other applicable federal and state regulations.
- Review and process pension claims, disability applications, and survivor benefits.
- Conduct internal audits to identify discrepancies and ensure data integrity.
- Communicate complex pension information clearly to plan members and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the legal and compliance teams to update plan documents and amendments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in pension administration, specifically within the federal sector (FERS/CSRS experience preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of ERISA regulations and IRS tax rules regarding retirement plans.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables) and pension administration software.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with the highest level of confidentiality.
