Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily administration of Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) and Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) plans.
- Conduct thorough reviews of pension calculations, service credit, and survivor benefits to ensure accuracy.
- Respond to inquiries from federal employees and retirees regarding eligibility, vesting, and benefit projections.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal regulations, including ERISA and OPM guidelines.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to resolve discrepancies in payroll and benefit records.
- Prepare and audit required reporting documentation for state and federal oversight bodies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in federal benefits administration, pension plan management, or actuarial science.
- Deep knowledge of FERS, CSRS, and federal retirement regulations.
- Proficiency in retirement administration software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or proprietary HRIS systems).
- Strong analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy in data processing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client-facing interactions.
