Responsibilities
- Perform complex calculations for federal pension plans (FERS and CSRS) ensuring 100% accuracy and compliance.
- Interpret and apply OPM regulations, agency-specific policies, and federal laws regarding retirement benefits.
- Conduct retirement counseling sessions for federal employees to explain eligibility, vesting, and distribution options.
- Review and audit pension documentation to mitigate risk and ensure data integrity.
- Prepare detailed reports, analyses, and presentations for federal stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Collaborate with the HRIS team to troubleshoot pension data discrepancies and system updates.
- Stay current on legislative changes affecting federal retirement programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in federal retirement administration, payroll, or benefits.
- Deep understanding of Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) and Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS).
- Strong working knowledge of OPM regulations and the Federal Employees' Group Life Insurance (FEGLI) program.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with HRIS or payroll software (e.g., SAP, Workday).
- Attention to detail and exceptional analytical problem-solving skills.
