Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with ERISA and federal pension regulations through rigorous plan audits and documentation reviews
- Develop and implement pension plan policies aligned with Department of Labor standards and industry best practices
- Analyze complex financial data to assess plan solvency, funding adequacy, and actuarial projections
- Provide technical guidance to employers, trustees, and beneficiaries regarding plan administration and fiduciary responsibilities
- Investigate potential violations and recommend corrective actions through enforcement proceedings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to update pension legislation and regulatory frameworks
- Represent the agency in stakeholder meetings and public forums on pension policy matters
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in pension plan administration, employee benefits, or regulatory compliance
- Thorough knowledge of ERISA, IRS Code 401(k), and DOL regulations (e.g., Form 5500, PBGC requirements)
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling software and data visualization tools
- Active federal security clearance or ability to obtain one within 90 days
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for complex technical documentation
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced regulatory environment
- Certification in Pension Administration (CEBS) or CPA designation highly desirable
