Responsibilities
- Administer federal pension plans in compliance with OPM regulations and ERISA standards
- Process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and survivor claims with 99% accuracy
- Conduct audits of pension records to identify discrepancies and ensure compliance
- Provide expert guidance to federal employees on retirement planning and options
- Collaborate with legal teams to resolve complex pension disputes and appeals
- Generate quarterly reports on pension fund performance and demographic trends
- Train agency HR personnel on pension policy updates and procedural changes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience with federal pension systems (TSP, FERS, CSRS)
- Expert knowledge of OPM regulations, ERISA, and federal retirement laws
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., SAP HR, Oracle HCM)
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, SHRM-SCP) preferred
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Ability to manage sensitive confidential information with discretion
- Strong written/verbal communication skills for stakeholder interactions
