Responsibilities
- Administer federal pension plans ensuring strict adherence to ERISA, IRS, and OPM regulations
- Process daily payroll reconciliations and retirement contribution calculations
- Conduct comprehensive benefit eligibility reviews for federal employees
- Develop and maintain accurate participant records using specialized software
- Collaborate with federal agencies to resolve complex pension inquiries
- Prepare quarterly compliance reports for regulatory bodies
- Train federal staff on pension plan provisions and retirement options
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of pension plan administration experience
- Familiarity with federal retirement systems (FERS, CSRS, TSP)
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(k) regulations, and OPM guidelines
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., UltiPro, Benefitfocus)
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or similar designation
