Responsibilities
- Manage Pension Applications: Review and process federal pension claims and retirement applications with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all pension calculations adhere to federal statutes, OPM guidelines, and internal agency policies.
- Client Advisory: Provide expert guidance to federal employees regarding their pension eligibility, vesting schedules, and benefit projections.
- Data Analysis: Analyze complex financial data to resolve discrepancies in pension records and optimize workflow processes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with HR departments and legal teams to address complex beneficiary cases.
- Training: Assist in training junior staff on updated pension regulations and system procedures.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in federal pension administration, retirement planning, or actuarial science.
- Certification: Professional certification (e.g., CFP, SHRM-SCP) is a significant plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in federal HRIS systems (e.g., eOPF) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.
- U.S. Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for federal security clearance.
