Responsibilities
- Manage Pension Administration: Oversee the end-to-end processing of federal pension claims, ensuring strict adherence to FERS and CSRS regulations.
- Weekend Operations: Lead the weekend team to process mail-in and electronic pension inquiries with high accuracy and speed.
- Data Integrity: Maintain and audit complex pension databases, ensuring all records are up-to-date and compliant with federal standards.
- Client Communication: Provide professional and empathetic support to federal employees and retirees regarding their pension status and benefits.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay current with changing federal laws and regulations affecting pension plans and ensure all processes are compliant.
- Reporting: Generate weekly and monthly reports on pension processing metrics and workload distribution.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in federal benefits administration, payroll processing, or pension plan management.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.
- Availability: Must be available to work weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday) on a rotating schedule.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with ERPs or HRIS systems (e.g., SAP, Workday, Oracle).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to manage large volumes of data with high precision and confidentiality.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with U.S. Federal Government retirement systems (FERS/CSRS) is highly desirable.
