We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Federal Pension Specialist to join our night shift operations team in Louisville, KY. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of pension plans and retirement benefits for federal employees. As a night shift specialist, you will support the continuous workflow of our benefits department, ensuring that federal retirees and active employees receive the support they need around the clock. You will work closely with the compliance team to ensure all pension plan disbursements adhere to federal regulations.
Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and process pension benefit requests and retirement applications with high accuracy.
- Provide exceptional customer service to federal employees and retirees regarding pension plan inquiries via phone and email during night hours.
- Ensure all documentation complies with Office of Personnel Management (OPM) regulations and federal guidelines.
- Update and maintain pension records in the federal database, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Assist in resolving complex issues related to retirement calculations and benefit eligibility.
- Collaborate with day-shift teams to transfer cases and ensure seamless service continuity.
- Monitor system alerts and perform routine audits of pension disbursements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in pension administration, retirement planning, or federal benefits is highly desirable.
- Must be available to work a Night Shift (e.g., 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM or similar).
- Strong understanding of federal payroll and pension regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and federal case management software.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during night hours.
