Responsibilities
- Analyze federal policies and regulations impacting veteran healthcare and benefits
- Develop legislative recommendations for California-specific veteran programs
- Collaborate with congressional offices and state agencies on policy implementation
- Prepare comprehensive reports and briefings for senior leadership
- Monitor policy effectiveness through data analysis and stakeholder feedback
- Represent the agency at public forums and intergovernmental meetings
- Maintain compliance with federal procurement and grant management standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of federal or state government policy analysis experience
- Expertise in veterans' affairs, healthcare policy, or social services
- Strong quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and policy modeling software
- Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass federal background investigation
