Responsibilities
- Operate advanced screening equipment, including X-ray machines and CT scanners, to detect threats in passenger carry-on baggage and personal items.
- Perform physical searches and pat-downs of passengers and property in accordance with TSA security directives and protocols.
- Identify, isolate, and resolve security breaches or prohibited items found during the screening process.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and composure while interacting with the public in high-pressure environments.
- Adhere to strict time management requirements to ensure efficient checkpoint operations and minimal passenger delays.
- Complete all required training modules and safety certifications to remain compliant with federal regulations.
- Document screening activities accurately and report any security concerns or suspicious behavior to the Screening Management Team.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national and eligible for a Secret security clearance.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to pass a background investigation, including fingerprinting and a drug test.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods, walk, and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent vision (with or without correction) and the ability to distinguish colors are required.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
- Must be willing to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
