Responsibilities
- Maintain and secure electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with HIPAA and federal regulations
- Perform health information coding using ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT systems
- Conduct quality audits of clinical documentation and coding accuracy
- Manage release of patient information requests while maintaining confidentiality
- Train staff on health information management systems and protocols
- Generate reports on healthcare utilization and quality metrics
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure documentation integrity
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- Minimum 2 years' experience in health information management
- Proficiency in Epic EHR systems and medical coding software
- Knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security regulations
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain federal security clearance
