Responsibilities
- Process veteran benefits claims with 100% accuracy per federal regulations
- Manage weekend intake for emergency veteran services and crisis interventions
- Coordinate with federal/state agencies for cross-departmental case resolution
- Maintain secure documentation using VA's encrypted systems (CARES)
- Conduct weekend eligibility screenings for VA healthcare programs
- Respond to urgent inquiries via VA's 24/7 veteran hotline
- Prepare weekly compliance reports for regional oversight
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship (mandatory for federal employment)
- Minimum 2 years experience in veteran services or federal administration
- Proficiency in VA-specific software (VBMS, VBA) or willingness to obtain certification
- Valid California driver's license (field visits required)
- Ability to obtain and maintain federal security clearance
- Experience working rotating schedules with weekend availability
- Knowledge of HIPAA and federal privacy laws
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred (not required)
