Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain GIS databases and applications using Esri ArcGIS and QGIS.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret spatial data to support transportation and water resource projects.
- Create high-quality maps, charts, and visualizations for public reports and internal stakeholders.
- Perform quality assurance on geospatial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with state standards.
- Collaborate with civil engineers and planners to integrate spatial data into project lifecycle management.
- Train department staff on GIS software tools and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelorās degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in GIS analysis and cartography.
- Proficiency in Esri ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, and Python scripting.
- Strong understanding of LA County geography, zoning laws, and environmental regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on complex datasets.
- Valid California driverās license may be required for field site visits.
