Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update spatial databases and GIS layers for the Department of Transportation.
- Create high-quality interactive maps and geospatial visualizations for public use and internal reporting.
- Collaborate with civil engineers and urban planners to analyze traffic patterns and infrastructure needs.
- Perform quality assurance on geodatabase projects and ensure data integrity standards are met.
- Train staff on GIS software and assist in the integration of new geospatial technologies into existing workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience using Esri ArcGIS (Desktop and Online) and QGIS.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, or scripting languages for data manipulation.
- Experience with GPS data collection and field verification is highly preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Must be a US Citizen and possess the ability to pass a background investigation.
